Euphoria - Are you ready?

Sweet riddles of soft petals,
Blazing my words away...you know you have me cuffed
Have niether my eyes nor my words
Cannot see this world or write my thoughts
For you have me cuffed, With my words locked in paradise

So much for this feeling, so much for this fire
Five elements diminish, as I create my own
As I close my eyes that cannot see, I see your forms untouched, unexplained
I see no plans unfold that tell tales...
For you have me cuffed, with my words locked in paradise

I look through the sky lit dome of my cerebral fountain
And I see thirsty clouds - Denied
Denied of it's joy to pour and roar
Lights of might and bright begin it's journey..
Not for long as they stand in between....
For you have me cuffed, with my words locked in paradise

Red flames of heat and passion - Burn
Burn from the cortex of my spine and your half empty glass of wine
Red and crisp from the grape vines of creative splendor
Abstract and painful from a birth labor
You resemble my dream that breathes and walks - There !!!
A new element for this era to gyrate not me
For you have me un-cuffed, with my words unlocked in a dream
I carry the formless in my wide arms towards the horizon
As I see white plains of nothing except you in my arms red and blushed..

And I behold my breath as I see you smile..
A sense of relief and a sense of expectation looks on me from a mile
As I feel the warmth of your slow breathing, I disappear...
I seem to glide in air with no feet and no direction
As I hear your heart pace with anxiety and unexplained aggression
I see no more my torso except my arms still carrying you
For you have me un-cuffed, with my words unlocked in paradise

I glide in euphoric vacuum with you in my arms
Hurt and confused for reasons unexplained I look at those unspoken eyes
Wanting to come close, breathing to my rhythm - yet
Yet! Dazed, Earthly and unconscious - You deserve more
And I see my arms disappear, concerned that I dropped fragility
I see you stand in front of me in pristine glitter
What would I not do ?
Annihilate a zillion me, eat a million sun, gallop a thousand dreams
But....Kiss just one you
For you have me un-cuffed, with my words unlocked in paradise

I look for answers to questions unasked..
I loose my last breath on an unexplained riddle..A soft petal
Just when I close my eyes for the last time to unite with my beloved
I feel the definition of sensuality on my lips
A kiss -
And I turn to see my head caressed in those arms that I dreamt
Holding me gently and looking at me to live forever..TOGETHER

Ever try writing longer prose? I began a novel, got some 100 pages or so written but ever since having an offspring, really haven't had much time to write. Poetry is a great realease - used to use my writing like keeping a diary/journal - found it more of a challenge as you can't just write stuff down, but rather craft it and play with imagery and allegory/metaphor. Funny, because I don't really read lots of poetry (though my tastes range from Henry Rollins to Pablo Neruda and Seamus Heaney).

Anyrood, keep at it and all my best!

I hear you, I have if I may call a "outline" of my novel reading about 50 pages. But, I seem to lack certain skills around patience to expand it :)

I am not sure if the words will do justice to it but there are these impulsive surges to express and invariably it comes out in the form of poetry for me. I usually don't seem to frame my work but just let it go with a visualization mode turned on inside my head.

Every faced that situation where you see someone or something and your creative juices just flow like clear water through flood gates; it's those moments I see to crave for..may be I should try to write short prose !

You have quiet a perimeter when it comes to your reading interest; I seem to really enjoy classics - Wordsworth, Edgar Allan Poe, Frost, Sarah Teasdale to name a few. Although I have to admit, a lot of my rhythm comes listening to music.

Keep the digital ink rolling my friend :)

The framework side of longer prose has always troubled me too, which is funny because you usually have some sort of story that you want to tell. I seem to start in no direction, but simply using a conversation to get the ball rolling and create and evolve as I delve deeper into the characters and they develop for me. That seems to work to a point as life is always throwing a curve or new idea, resulting in a cerebral nebula and whatnot. I thought I had ended the book once and was content to call it a novella, but then more ideas came into my noggin and I trudged forward.

...I think I try to put writing like life - in the moment. Life is never black and white with a beginning or end and the only thing we can control is the present, so that's where I'm coming from.

Looking forward to more of your stuff!

...Couldn't help but notice some of your musical favs. I'm from Nova Scotia originally - not too far from you - and was brought up on Celtic music. In fact, I played bass drum for several years in a Pipe band and did a Celtic music program on the University station (which is still on Thursday night's hosted by the guy I started it with on CKDU-FM - they do netcasts so check it out some time: "Irish Eddy and the Highland Gac).

...My daughter's name is Enya, but not after the singer. You must know the Poges? Check out the Tannahill Weavers - they are brilliant too, particularly their early albums.

Cheers!

Tracked CKDU-FM using winamp, should be podcasting it shortly at my home. Yeah..I realized you were just across the border, very cool that you played bass drums..do you still play. I have always had a musical involvement all through my life so far..classical in school, keyboards for while and now I am all in to digital track mixing aka DJ (Wonder should call myself DJ J)

Enya - nice name, I bet she is an inspiration for lot of your writing including your reflections on Fatherhood, which by the by was a good blog.

Pogues was an interesting band, they had a nice punkish mix to traditional Irish music..although I have to say the lead singer (forget to recollect his name) had a very slurred speech and the words would actually sound different due to that.. They had some interesting lyrics though..speaking of interesting lyrics Chris de Burgh (famous for Lady in red song) also had quiet a bit of revolutionary lyrics. You should check out his "Don't pay the ferryman"..

I think the most recent Celtic artist I enjoyed was Rita Connolloy, although she reminded me of some someone from the 80's

Hope the holiday season is keeping you in good cheers..

One of the Unit Managers at work plays in a Pipe Band here and has been trying to talk me into picking the Bass Drum up again with them, but life is so busy. I spend most my time making music with my guitars and tin whistles down in my basement. I have been living in Alberta for the last decade, so the Ceildh scene isn't quite as it was back home (though my mom has just come out to spend Christmas with us here from NS and brought lobster!!!!).

I'll have a look for the Chris de Burgh track.

Happy Holidays and all the best for 2006 to you and yours as well!
